Crochet

Anyone have a general idea of how many oz. of yarn would be needed to crochet an afghan for a full-size bed? Could be granny squares, could be afghan stitch squares, could be something completely different (sampler squares, straight rows of stitching).

I'm just curious. No projects percolating in the back of my brain, no sir, nope...

Depends on the yarn. Different fibers and different spinning styles produce quite different yardages of yarn for the same weight.

At a very rough estimate, a 4'x 6' afghan in worsted weight yarn runs around 80 - 90 oz. More for complicated patterns or lots of colour changes. Less for a more simple design.
