My bruised foot was not an issue tonight.

We had a really large class for staff practice tonight. I managed to position myself so that I wouldn't strike or be struck by the two students on either side of me. However, I neglected to maintain sufficient distance directly behind me, and I was struck in the hand by the student directly behind me during one of the drills.

The student directly behind me was helwen. ;-)

I think I'm going to be well "conditioned" by Saturday.

It's a little more complicated than that. Because of the distance between the rows (or lack thereof), our staves swung through the same space (horizontal strike). If our timing had been exactly the same, we would have been fine (or, I should say, I would have been fine).

There was snow outside to stick my hand in, at least. ;-)
