My father's chores

My father was ill (stomach problems) all night, so I did his chores this morning:

• Stoked the boiler (I have the night-time feeding already)
• Took water to the chickens (automatic water trough is frozen, has been since last week, will probably still be through at least next week)
• Fed the cattle (need to throw more hay down from the upper barn, another of my regular chores)
• Gathered eggs (was attacked/blindsided by one of the Beta roosters, and then was subsequently defended by the Alpha rooster)
• Washed eggs
• Put eggs in cartons
• Changed light bulb on enclosed porch

And then I went to work.

I love the rooster attack/defense. I don't think I've seen your cattle though I know you've mentioned them a couple of times. Yeah farm!

We currently have seven heifers and one bull. We decided to keep the bull over the winter to add more heat to the barn. ;-)

Hey, I'm not going to argue with the Alpha rooster defending me.

My father did mention sharpening the axe for that Beta, however...
