My father was discharged from the hospital yesterday, with no apparent complications from the head injury that he received from the fall Friday morning. He's happy to be home — he always gets terribly bored in the hospital.

We moved one of the pianos (the small grand) so that, hopefully, my father won't get tangled up in his walker again when he walks between them.

I delivered hay Saturday, fed the cattle hay and rowen in the lowermost part of the barn, carried a 50-lb bag of feed grain for the cattle from the upper barn down to the lowermost barn to replenish the storage barrel, tossed some more corn stalks over the fence up by the house (after the cattle were out again). It was pretty much a typical day for chores, although this time of year we don't normally have the cattle in the barn.

The cattle are back out in the pasture as of yesterday morning, and are currently lying down in the middle field as far from the fence line in all directions as I think it's possible to get.

The chickens are mostly well, although I found one of hens dead yesterday morning. This is not that unusual, regrettably; they sometimes just do that, no matter how well you take care of them. My father certainly was not concerned about it. If the hen had been marked, however, it would be another matter entirely.
