Chores

OK, so I'm slowing down on regular daily reporting of my chores. Too busy doing the chores, I guess. ;-)
Yesterday and today, among other things:

• *Took care of the chickens (eggs, grain, fresh bedding in the nests)
• *Gave some grain to the cattle
• *Cut some of the sweet corn stalks and tossed them over the fence to the cattle
• *Replaced a board in the chicken room that blocks a draft during the wintertime
• *Secured the lower and middle barn against frost tonight (closed various doors and windows)
• *Drained water from plumbing in the sugarhouse
• *Worked with a large-animal veterinarian who needed to check out one of the heifers (involved calling the heifers and the bull in to the barn, and then isolating and securing the heifer from the other cattle)
• With helwen, gathered ears of meal corn from the garden and cut down the cornstalks
