Another day on the farm: Morning
Oct. 7th, 2009 01:26 pmA rainy, blustery day, with intermittent patches of blue sky. Morning temperature was 55°F.
Morning chores for my father:
This afternoon's chores will likely be the same, with more extended chores tomorrow, when the weather is more clear. There's a gate to be taken down for the winter, a section of fence wire from one pasture to be coiled up, an outer door for the hatchway put in place, and a load of hay to be counted out onto the loading platform in the barn.
Morning chores for my father:
- Fed the family dog
- Gathered eggs (27 this time)
- Grained the chickens and checked the water feeders (yes, did that yesterday, too)
- Put another bag of grain down the grain chute
- Sorted eggs into cartons for delivery to the store
