A form needs to be filled out

...at the local troop headquarters for the State Police.

Seems that sometime in the last week, someone decided to remove the front license plate on the van. I only noticed it today when I was sweeping the snow off the front of the vehicle, in preparation for moving it around the driveway to clear way for the plow.

In the past week, we've been in at least half a dozen different towns down in the valley.

I hope this doesn't mean you need to get new license plates....

According to the Trooper that we spoke with, it is possible to get a special permit to have only one license plate, even though the red-on-white plates are supposed to be used in pairs. He also said that we would probably get stopped for having one plate anyway, at which time we would have to show the permit, so it would be a tossup as to which would be more convenient -- getting stopped on a regular basis for having only one plate, or getting a new set of plates.

Also, although there was no report in the system of someone finding our license plate [yet], since we reported it missing/stolen, we could then have the possibility of getting stopped because one plate has been reported missing/stolen.

We have to report it to the RMV tomorrow.
