Google maps gets even weirder

[Don't know how long it's been doing this. Haven't tried to get directions that go that way since September.]

No, Baptist Corner Road does not make a sharp left there -- that's not a road, it's a snowmobile track. Seriously, there's no road there, and never has been, as far as I know. There are maple trees old enough to tap (and a farmer who does), and a 40% grade.

This is getting really strange...

More and more, I trust Google Maps less and less in our area. It's the default for when you select the "Show me a map!" option for events on http://www.eastkingdom.org, but I'm beginning to wonder if it should be any more.

Contrariwise, MapQuest has added an option to avoid seasonally closed roads.

you also can't always trust the GPS systems, one of them took me down through a bunch of old trails and dirt roads when i was trying to get around a bad accident on my way North to my place in NY. In the end got to a closed bridge and couldn't go any further even though GPS said I was 4 miles from the road I needed to get too :( so had to go all the way back. I was not alone, a dozen or so other people with GPS got the same info and tried the same route. You should always double check your maps and GPS.
