fitzwWhen we went out last night (just the two miles up to town to a small local restaurant with a live band -- I didn't want to drive very far in this weather) it was 3°F (~-16°C) outside.
This morning, it was 1°F (~-17°C) when I woke up. Now, it's reached a nice, warm 5°F (~-15°C), and the wind chill advisory from last night and this morning has been canceled.
I decided that for the new year I wanted a new desktop manager on my primary computer (which runs a Gentoo Linux distribution), so over the past two days I've been installing KDE 4.1. There are a few small glitches to work out (such as the email client not quite working yet), but it looks pretty interesting so far. Very different look and feel from KDE 3.5, which it was running (and I can still go back to if the KDE 4.1 installation goes pear-shaped).
