The problem with cleaning

...is that you often put something away somewhere, and then you can't find it when you need it.

Such as the cable for downloading pictures from the digital camera to the computer.

I found it; it was neatly coiled up and tied with twisties, in a box of computer cables in the living room that were going to go into storage.

Ah, but they weren't to go into storage until after you finish sorting that box plus some other stuff...

My problems start with the statement "I'll put it somewhere safe..."

If I say that, stop me from storing whatever it is, since we won't find it anytime soon; it will be very safe. Safe even from me. ;)

No, not the "safe" place!! *sigh* I have a lot of safe stuff around here...

"Safe" places

Yeah, I foresightedly knitted a pair of socks in about July for the next Christmas gift exchange at work.... and then put them somewhere "safe." Could I find them when I needed them? No.

In this case it was OK, because as soon as I saw whose name I had drawn for the exchange, I knew I had to make her a pair of PINK socks. But it's the principle of the thing....

Forgot to add... I was going to go folk dancing on Saturday, and since one of my haven't-seen-for-years folk dance shoes unexpectedly turned up the other day, I thought I'd wear them. Can I find the other one? You guess.

I had a boss who used to wryly observe, "Everything is SOMEwhere."

I wish my house had a "Search" function.
