Today's Chores

Morning:

• Check and feed the wood furnace
  2:00 AM no wood needed
  8:00 AM still ¼ full; filled firebox
• Gather eggs
• Feed chickens
• Check water feeder operation
• Cook breakfast
• Wash dishes
• Put dump truck under cover
  Requires opening upper barn doors, moving second truck further into barn, backing dump truck into barn, closing barn doors (pay attention to these steps; they're important)

Afternoon/evening:

• Check and feed the wood furnace
  3:00 PM mostly empty; filled firebox
• Drive father to pick up his car, using mother's car
• Deliver eggs to local store
• Run over iced tree limb that dropped directly in path of car on the way home
• Pick up pieces of downed tree limb and toss them off of the road before another car runs them over
• Put mother's car under cover
  Requires opening upper barn doors, moving dump truck further into barn, driving mother's car into barn, closing barn doors (told you those steps were important)
• Dump two bags of grain down grain chute from upper barn (where car is parked) to middle barn
• Put tractor under cover
  This tractor at least goes into a different area of the barn, underneath where the car was just parked — no doors to open and close

Added to tomorrow's chores:

• Check mother's car for any damage from running over tree limb on the way home from delivering eggs

just rain so far (thank goodness) It was cool watching the green stay green up the CT river valley on the radar (as the pink of sleet and freezing rain moved all around it!)
