St. Patrick's Day
Mar. 16th, 2011 11:02 pmMy family is of Irish decent, in part. In past years, we have made some note of St. Patrick's Day, but not an excessive amount.
This year, though, St. Patrick's Day takes on a more poignant note for us, that will always factor in to our consideration of the date.
One year ago tomorrow, my father passed beyond the veil.
My mother noted today that it's getting to be easier for her to think of the good life that my father had, and that she had with him, rather than thinking as much about his loss. I'm sure that she won't ever completely lose the sense of loss -- they were married for more than 58 years, after all. But she is better able to deal with it.
St. Patrick's Day. Never the same for us again, but better with time.
