Christmas morning
Dec. 25th, 2010 10:28 amA good start to the day: Breakfast for the three of us (myself, my mother, and
helwen), bacon and eggs, juice, coffee for my mother and me. Pleasant company and conversation. My mother received two phone calls with Christmas wishes while we sat at table. With my nephew and niece away for the weekend, we wanted to make sure that my mother didn't spend Christmas morning by herself.
My mother plans to do bookkeeping today (at least this morning). I'll be doing regular farmwork: Taking care of the chickens, [hopefully] bringing in the remainder of the firewood that's piled up down by the barn, picking up a few items remaining in the yard and putting them away, setting up fenceposts to mark the edge of some sections of the driveway for plowing. Tomorrow, my brother and his son will be stopping by in the afternoon to help hook up the plows to the tractor and the '94 F250 pickup, so that I'll be ready when (or if) the snows come tomorrow evening and Monday morning.
