In the basement of the farmhouse sit pieces of an old wooden deadfall mousetrap. There's the treadle/trigger, the block weight, and the trough that both sit inside of.

The problem is that I think some pieces are still missing, and I'm trying to figure out how to make it work properly. I don't know if my mother will know enough about it to help me figure out what's missing and how to set it.

It looks much like this, but without the uprights: http://www.fourteenacre.co.uk/english-deadfall-mousetrap/ -- There are two notches cut in the top of the sides of the trough, which is why I think there's something missing.

Anyone have any ideas?
